Outlined below are the qualifications and general guidelines for attending the 2027 Platinum National Finals. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or email us.
QUALIFICATIONS

A studio must attend a Platinum regional competition during Platinum's current competition season.

If a studio does not attend a Platinum regional competition or if a particular entry was unable to compete at a regional, they may submit a video of all entries that they would like to enter in the National Finals for consideration. All video entries must be received 30 days from the date of the competition to be considered for entry into the National Finals.
GENERAL RULES & GUIDELINES
-
All National entries must be received with payment in full 30 days from the competition date, using a credit card (a 3% processing charge will be applied), bank check (cashier’s check), or money order for all entries from one studio. Studio checks or individual checks from parents will not be accepted.

All entries will remain in the same age division for Nationals as they competed in for Regionals. Entries may change levels and categories with permission from Platinum Directors.

Entries may drop from a Line to a Large Group, a Large Group to a Small Group, a Small Group to a Duet/Trio.

Platinum will allow one dancer substitution for duet/trios, small groups, large groups, and lines. However, permission must be obtained by the Platinum Directors before the National Finals.

In order to qualify for the 10% early bird discount, a $1000 deposit needs to be paid by Sept. 1, 2026 and the balance of entry fees must be PAID IN FULL by the 90-day deadline. A 5% discount will be applied if PAID IN FULL by 60 days. No concessions or discounts for studios paying after these deadlines will be honored.
STUDIO DISCOUNTS
GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP GUIDELINES

A studio may only have one act qualify for the Grand Championship in each division. A division is broken down by level (Rec, Int, or Elite), age (11 & Under or 12 & Over), and then by group size (Small Group or Large Group). A studio can have a dance qualify for the 12 & Over Intermediate Small Group Grand Championship, as well as the 12 & Over Intermediate Large Group Grand Championship.

An additional "Judge's Choice" routine will be chosen to compete in the Gala. Only a studio not in the TOP 6 of a division will be considered, scores will not be considered for this choice.

The TOP 5 highest scoring Lines in each level will be eligible to re-compete in the Line Grand Championship. Only one Line can qualify from a studio per level.

The TOP 5 highest scoring Mini groups (small or large) will be eligible to re-compete in the Mini Grand Championship. Only one Mini group can qualify for a studio.We will name the Grand Champions for each age division, 11 & Under and 12 & Over. This means Petites & Juniors and Teens & Seniors will compete against each other for the title of "Grand Champions" in their respective levels. In the event there are not enough entries, levels of Grand Championship may be combined.

IMPROV FINALS

Dancers can register for the Improv competition at the Retail area. The top 3 Recreational, Intermediate, and Elite Improv dancers from each age division will advance to the Improv Finals held during the Nationals event.

Dancer competing in the Improv Finals will perform the same style they danced to qualify for the Finals.
FREE NATIONALS WORKSHOPS
-
Platinum will be offering FREE workshops from Master Teachers, who are also your Platinum Staff for the Nationals Finals. The workshop times will be available with the schedule about 2 weeks before the event. The classes are geared toward the age group but all are welcome to attend.
GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP OPENING NUMBER
-
We ask that all representative dancers be at least 9 years old and their jazz dance level be at the Intermediate/Elite level.

The dancers will learn the choreography for the Opening Number in several rehearsal sessions with a dress rehearsal prior to the Grand Championship. All rehearsals are mandatory.

The dates and times of the rehearsals will be announced with the final schedule.

Each studio dancer representative must remit payment of $100.00 which will cover the cost of the basic costume and the choreography and rehearsal time of the choreographer. This fee is due with the submission of your Nationals entries and can be completed online.

Each participant will receive a Platinum top to wear in the Opening Number. Dancer will need to provide their own black bottoms.
SPIRIT DAYS
-
Each day of Nationals will feature a themed Spirit Day. Throughout the day, members of your studio can head up to Retail dressed in theme gear, studio merch, costumes, accessories, signs, glitter, rhinestones, inflatable flamingos… honestly, we support the chaos. The studio with the MOST participation and overall spirit will be crowned that day’s Spirit Day Winner!

The winning studio will receive the official Platinum Spirit Stick for the day. The fun part? That studio will then get to decorate, customize, and add to the Spirit Stick before presenting it to the next day’s winning studio. By the end of Nationals, the Spirit Stick will tell the story of the entire event and all the incredible studio spirit along the way!
OPENING NIGHT PARTY

There will be an Opening Night Party the first night of competition. Light refreshments, like ice cream or deserts will be served. This will be a Spirit Day themed Dance Party and you can dance the night with friends from around the country.
STUDIO DIRECTOR/TEACHER ORIENTATION

We encourage all teachers to attend our Nationals Teacher Orientation, which will take place at the designated time listed on your National’s schedule prior to the start of the event.

During orientation, your Director will guide teachers through the event spaces, review the overall schedule flow, and cover important Nationals information including galas, battles, special events, and other Nationals-specific details to help your Nationals run as smoothly as possible.

This orientation is a great opportunity to get familiar with the venue, ask questions, and make sure you have all the information you need before Nationals officially begins. We strongly encourage teachers to arrive at the scheduled start time, so you don’t miss any important announcements or details.
